Cutting Edge Modelworks has recently released two Black Magic
sets that will be of great interest to anyone painting a US Navy scheme on their
new 1/48 scale Hasegawa or Hobbycraft Scooters.
The two Airframe Detail Masking sets have been individually designed for
either the Hasegawa or Hobbycraft 1/48 scale A-4E Skyhawks. They will greatly
simplify the task of masking the many complex rudder markings, as well as some
more mundane tasks such as the anti-glare panel and intake surrounds.
The rudder masks are especially impressive. There are sections that will
cover the entire rudder, and further options to either mask the raised, ribbed
section of the rudder; or the narrow recessed sections or (as required in some
schemes) both in sequence.
The only disappointment is the lack of specific placement instructions.
Cutting Edge also have a standard canopy and wheel mask available for the
Hobbycraft kit.
These three masking sheets are an appropriate use of the medium that will
provide a sharp result and save lots of time.
Recommended.
