“Dutch Decal” is a company from the Netherlands that produces decals mainly based on subjects of the Royal Netherlands Airforce. Their range includes subjects on nearly every aircraft that the KLu have flown, as well as squadron badges and military roundels in the main scales of 1/72, 1/48 & 1/32.

Other products in the manufacturers range are the 'CloudMaster' civil aircraft decals, and the 'Kits at War' decal range which covers WWII subjects as well as post war aircraft. For more detailed information on the “Dutch Decal” range, check out their website at www.dutchdecal.nl

This latest release covers the following aircraft:

1. Piper Super Cub

a)      Aircraft 5G 67 of 299 Squadron, Deelen AB, 1958. Aircraft is camouflage of Dark Earth and Camouflage Green.

b)      Aircraft 8A 30 of 299 Squadron, Deelen AB, 1955. Aircraft is overall Identification Yellow.

c)      Aircraft R3 45 of RNEIAF, Java, 1942. The aircraft has a colour scheme of Olive Drab with Medium Green blotches on the wing uppers, with Neutral Gray wing and lower fuselage surface.

2. Royal Netherlands Navy Sikorsky S-55

a)      Airframe HO4S-3. Serial 077. " Cleopatra " at MVK Valkenburg. Overall Glossy Sea Blue.

3. DHC L-20A Beaver

All of the aircraft selections for the Beaver are identical to the 1/72 scale sheet 72046 that I reviewed earlier in the year. Check back through HyperScale's Decal Review index for a more detailed list of the aircraft covered. All of the comments listed for the DHC Beaver are applicable to this set.

The decals come enclosed in an air tight zip locked bag, with a double-sided A4 size sheet of instructions that include artwork and a brief outline of the aircraft subject. The decals were all nicely printed with good colour density and register. The decals are also very thin, so a little extra care will be needed in their application.

Recommended kits for the DHC Beaver, Piper L-4 and Piper Super Cub are the Hobbycraft offerings, with the Revell kit recommended for the Sikorsky S-55.

This decal sheet supplied a very good selection for finishing those Hobbycraft kits in a unique scheme. The Sikorsky S-55 is also a nice choice for something different.

Recommended.

Thanks to Luuk of Dutch Decals for the review samples.
