Cutting Edge has provided the budding Eagle builder with the parts required to convert Tamiya's 1/32nd scale kit (No:60302) into the Israeli F15I Ra’am (Thunder).

According to information on the Meteor Productions website, this set is limited run so if you want the complete package you had best get in early. The other option is to buy the CEC32086 F15E Update and CEC32076 F15E engine nozzles with Turkey Feathers plus modification of the rear fuselage extensions and fin tip radome.

Specific changes to the airframe include the exhausts, which are the early type with the turkey feathers. Other changes are the ECM fittings and intakes mounted on the conformal tanks for cooling electronics equipment. These intakes are also present on USAF version F15E’s, and are one very glaring omission in the Tamiya kit.

All the specific changes are very clearly spelt out in the single page instruction sheet, including the need to fill some scribed in panel lines, not present on the Israeli variant.

Care is taken to mention a specific Decal sheet available from IsraDecal (No:IAF-19) to brighten up your new bird in Israeli markings.

Having seen a couple of photos of this beast at a British Airshow, I know that it will make a spectacular addition to any aircraft builders display cabinet assuming you have the room for the monster. As always a very good set for the modern aircraft fan.

Recommended for those with bad eyesight and clumsy fingers working in the non-Braille scale.

Many thanks to Meteor Productions for the review samples
