Tamiya’s original Corsair release in 1/48 scale remains a classic in styrene. Cutting Edge's two latest decal releases will add new life and colour to Tamiya’s birdcage Corsair or their later F4U-1A kit.

Saturation and registration of my samples were perfect.

All the subjects are F4U-1, F4U-1A Corsairs. The details of the subjects are as follows:

CED 48121 – F4U Nose Art #2

  • F4U-1A VMF-321 "Heavenly Body”, mid-war three-tone blue finish

  • F4U-1 VMF-214 "Marine's Dream”, two-tone blue and grey finish with high demarcation line

  • F4U-1 VMF-121 "Ramblin' Wreck”, mid-war three-tone blue finish

  • F4U-1 VMF-124 "My Bonnie", two-tone blue and grey finish with low demarcation line

CED 48123 – F4U Nose Art #3

  • FG-1D HQSS-22 "Skipper's Orchid”, Overall Gloss Sea Blue

  • F4U-1A VFM-217 "Ring-Dang-Doo”, Overall Gloss Sea Blue

  • F4U-1 VMF-213 "Dangerous Dan/Eight Ball”, two-tone blue and grey finish with low demarcation line

  • F4U-1 VMF-215 "Spirit of '76", two-tone blue and grey finish with high demarcation line

All Recommended.
