Tiger Model Designs is releasing a 6 ton Bilstein Crane Conversion for Tamiya's fabulous 1/35 scale FAMO kit in the coming weeks.

The crane conversion will contain over 80 resin pieces; 2 pieces of telescoping brass tubing; 12" of fine chain; a small piece of lead foil; 2 sizes of thread for rigging the crane; a small PE fret; decals for the information placards and professionally drawn instructions.

Test-shots of some of the conversion parts, including elements of the chassis, track-guards and alternate, single row seating. Images of the crane parts are not yet available.

When it is finished, Tiger Model Designs' Sd.Kfz. 9/1 conversion will represent a production type vehicle. It will include a wobble plate so the crane can be set at up to a 12 degree gimble. The boom and 4 outrigger legs will all be fully adjustable, and the crane will hold the weight of a Pzr IV turret with a resin interior, turned barrel and PE schurtzen!

The images on this page are test shots of the resin parts that are already completed. More parts (mainly the crane body and photo-etched parts) are still in production. Additional images will be posted when they become available.

The conversion is due for release on or before 5 March. The model may be pre-ordered from Tiger Model Designs via their website. Pre-ordered conversions will be shipped free of charge.
