FirstLook

PST has added five trucks based on the chassis of either the GMC 2 1/2 ton truck, or the US 6 Studebaker chassis to their range of 1/72 scale vehicles. The variants cover Cargo carriers, a fuel tanker and two variations of the Katjusha rocket launcher - the famous Stalin Organ.

The contents of each small somewhat flimsy box is based around two common sprues for all the variants, and one cab depending on whether the version is a GMC or Studebaker chassis. All the variants feature the hard-top cab. These sprues are supplied in black and green styrene, but I would still recommend painting the model when construction is completed! 102 core parts are contained on the two "core" sprues and the cab.

The additional sprues are specific to the particular variant.

There are very few sink marks or ejector pins on the facing surfaces of any of the parts. Small details are quite nice for this scale, including non-skid surfaces on the footrails, wheels and tyre treads.

The only real disappointment is the total lack of clear parts for the prominent windscreen. This omission will be obvious even in 1/72 scale.

Cargo Truck

The cargo truck sprue includes the cargo bed, sidewalls and an erected canvas tilt.

This version is available with both the GMC and US 6 cab.

Katjusha

The Katjusha version provides the rails, supports and even the rockets. Superdetailers will really have some material to work with here!

Once again, this variant is available with either the GMC or the US 6 cab.

Fuel Truck

The grey sprue contains parts to produce the fuel tank on the rear chassis.

This vehicle is only available with the US 6 Studebaker cab.

Decals are included in all five kits, but they have a very flat appearance suggesting possible problems with application and, in particular, hiding carrier film.

The instructions are quite adequate. Painting instructions are also supplied.

Conclusion

All of these kits should build up into nicely detailed models for display on their own, inclusion in a diorama or for wargames.

Recommended.
