I just received the Leading Edge 1/48 "South African Air Force Mk6 Sabres" decal sheet, product number 48.23.

Wow. This sheet has something for everyone when it comes to building SAAF Sabres. Markings are included for two different NMF schemes and two different camouflaged jets.

The sheet is A4 sized and includes enough national (Castle and Springbok not roundel) markings and stencils to mark two kits. Stencils are in Afrikaans and English.

A beautifully printed colour instruction sheet is complimented by three black and white sheets that provide detailed instructions for the placement of the markings and extensive stencilling for the different schemes. Additionally, Leading Edge has provided a fourth sheet with drawings of the cockpit and ejection seat for the Mk6 Sabre. This sheet also includes an illustration on how to modify an F-86F-40 wing to the shorter version found on the SAAF Sabres.

The sheet is also available in 1/72 scale as 72.23 and 1/32 scale as 32.04.

I'd like to thank Leading Edge for the sample but I won't because I had to buy it from Snowy Mountains Models for AUD$26.00. Instead, I'd like to thank my wife for not killing me when she found out that I'd ordered it.

Highly Recommended.
