Albatros Modelworks' latest decal release in 1/72 and 1/48 scale is
"Marauding Corsairs II". The subject aircraft is the A-7 Corsair
      II.
       The
chock-a-block contents of the "Marauding Corsairs" are crowded into a
      single ziplock bag. There are
three full-sized decal sheets plus two small
supplemental sheets. One decal sheet is dedicated to the imposing markings of
      the single US Navy Corsair,
the second contains markings destined for the other subjects and the
third large sheet covers stencils. The decals on my 1/48 scale sample are in perfect register and display
minimal carrier film. Especially noteworthy is the metallic gold
lettering, which is printed with minimal grain. Albatros Modelworks traditionally cast far and wide for subject matter,
and this newest release is no exception. Although the quantity of choices is not as
broad as earlier releases, they are nevertheless very interesting. The
      subjects on this sheet comprise:
A-7D of USAF in SEA schemeA_7E of the Royal Thai Navy in grey and whiteA-7E of the US Navy featuring wild tail and wing markingsA-7H of the Hellenic Air Force in SEA scheme and, the jewel of the
crown,A-7P of the Portuguese Air Force in a wraparound SEA-style scheme
with a  commemorative scheme comprising a semi-gloss black tail,
big images of a tiger's head on one side of the fin and a falcon's head
on the opposite side, gold lettering announcing the hours flown by each
remaining Corsair II squadron and a stylised "tear" around the mid-rear
        fuselage. Really great stuff!
As always, the glossy instructions are real highlight. Historical and
colour notes support the first-rate artwork. Two additional letter-sized sheets in black-and-white will aid stencil
placement.        Albatros Modelworks has done it again with another inspiring release.
The smaller number of choices does not diminish the appeal of these five
subjects. They will look great on Hasegawa's 1/48 scale A-7 kit! Highly Recommended. Thanks to Eli from Albatros Productions for the review
      sample.
