Advantages: Colourful selection of schemes, nationalities and markings; very well printed with good opacity and colour; thorough instructions including partial upper schemes and history; excellent timing for big Trumpeter MiGs.
Disadvantages: Blue out of register on two-seater sheet (only impacts the aircraft number on one option)
Recommendation: Recommended to customise your big 1/32 MiG-21

Linden Hill Decals latest releases are designed for both the Trumpeter 1/32 scale MiG-21 releases - the single-seater MF and the two-seater UM (Mongol). 

Each set includes a colourful selection of nationalities and colour schemes to customise your Trumpeter MiG. The sets comprise a full size 21cm x 14.5cm decal sheet plus a smaller supplementary sheet, two full-colour letter-sized sheets of camouflage and marking instructions; and a half-letter sized cover page. 

The decals are very well printed. Colour saturation looks great, and there is only one number (on 32004b) that is effected by poor registration. Trumpeter' big 1/32 scale MiG-21MF and UM kits are both very nice indeed. They will be worthy recipients of these attractive decals.

Instructions are impressively thorough. They comprise one colour side view, plus a half-upper and half-lower view of the wing. Historical background on each aircraft is also supplied, in addition to FS number equivalents for the camouflage colours.

This set focuses on single-seater upgraded and late-service MiG-21s. Specific schemes are for eight aircraft:

  • MiG-21SM "17" of the VVS

  • MiG-21bis SAU "Blue 15" of the VVS

  • MiG-21bis "White 90" of Bulgaria

  • MiG-21bis SAU "White 345" of Bulgaria

  • Chengdu J-7III "Red 30163" PLAAF, China

  • MiG-21MF "Red 901" Romania

  • MiG-21 Lancer A "Black 10" Romania

  • MiG-21 Lancer C "Blck 6607" Romania

This sheet provides five options for two-seater MiG-21s:

  • Russian MiG-21UM "Blue 10"

  • Bulgarian MiG-21UM "White 34"

  • Georgian MiG-21UM "Red 27"

  • Romanian MiG-21 Lancer B

  • Romanian MiG-21UM "Red 6906"

 

Trumpeter's 1/32 scale MiG-21 kits are very nice indeed. They will be worthy recipients of Linden Hill's latest decals.
