Ultracast returns to one of its earliest subjects with these three new releases.

Ultracast already produce seats, propeller blades and an accurate RAF Mustang I conversion for the 1/48 scale Accurate Miniatures P-51A/A-36 family of kits. The three exhaust sets reviewed here will compliment the earlier accessories nicely.

Casting quality is up to Ultracast's typically high standards. As with their earlier exhaust sets, these resin parts feature striking detail in areas including weld seams, raised lips on the ends of the stacks and hollow exhaust pipes. This is particularly impressive on the RAF Fishtail exhausts.

The exhausts are cast onto a wedge of resin along the length of the flat joining surface. I simply snapped the exhausts off - no knife, no saw, just snapped - then sanded the joining surface. Cleanup could hardly be simpler.

These three sets of exhausts will add a convincing finishing touch to Accurate Miniatures' attractive model.

Recommended.
