FirstLook

If you need a set of late wheels for any 1/48 scale Mustang, and if you hate the idea of drilling out a plastic wheel, Obscureco Aircraft have got a deal for you!

Obscureco Aircraft's late P-51 wheels are applicable to a wide range of Mustang variants. The wheels are crisply cast in medium grey coloured resin. Some fine, featherlike flash is present in some of the recesses, but a few pokes with a file or a hobby knife should make short work of this waste material.

The inner hub is cast on the tyre. Detail is excellent. The rim is well defined, and bolts around the inner hub look great. The tyres themselves feature a diamond pattern. They are slightly flattened but not bulged. This is a realistic approach to aircraft tyres. The outer hub is a separate piece. The lightening holes are drilled right through so that, with careful alignment, you can have a "see-through" set of wheels on your late Mustang.

This is a simple set that will be invaluable to anyone building a late-war or post-war Mustang of almost any variant.

Recommended.
