Czech Master's Kits (CMK) 7049 set comprises eighteen resin parts that have been designed to enhance Hasegawa's 1/72 scale A-1H Skyraider.

The parts consist of the inner and outer pieces of the fuselage and ventral dive brakes and their associated hydraulic rams and hinges. Also included in the set are two complete wheels that have been bulged and flattened.

All pieces are crisply cast and detailed without any flash at all.

The set is packaged in a bubble of thick clear plastic with a cardboard header that slides into the back of the plastic packaging.

The packaging itself is robust but it is a pity that CMK allow the resin pieces to rattle around inside the bubble. The movement of parts can cause breakage and all four (you get an extra one) of the extended hydraulic rams in my sample were broken. Whilst it is no real big deal to replace the rams with wire, the point is that if CMK had have simply attached the whole casting containing the rams to the plastic bubble with tape this breakage would have been avoided.

Another problem is that the Skyraider was rarely seen with the speed brakes open while on the ground. This limits the possibilities of an accurate modelling project to a maintenance scene.

As with all CMK's kits the instruction sheet is clear and concise. It shows the necessary modifications needed to prepare the Hasegawa kit to take the resin inner bays for the speed brakes as well as a painting guide with matches to the Humbrol and Aeromaster paint range.

In summary, this is a nice little detail set that will enable the modeller to complete the Hasegawa Skyraider in a maintenance setting with the speed brakes in the opened position.

Recommended.
