Here is a peek at the new Classic Airframes Sparviero.

The kit has been delayed by manufacturing foul-ups for the past month or two, but they have now shipped, and should be hitting the shelves presently.

I received almost a full kit - no photoetch - but what I do have is impressive!

For any of you who purchased the Classic Airframes Re.2001, you know how good the molding job was. Well, the S.79 is the same quality - four sprues of fine, crisply engraved plastic parts - with relatively delicate sprue/part junctions, two bags of resin details, all injected clear parts, and a small photoetch sprue, which will include the boarding ladder for the optional open side door.

In addition to the optional open door, you can also open up the 'hunchback' dorsal gun position. Resin parts are included to show the retracted hood as well as internal detail. The cockpit is fully detailed in resin, and the engines are exquisite!

Decals for three aircraft are provided, two Spanish Civil War aircraft (with different camouflage) and the classic 'Electric Man'.

For all of those who have been waiting, the time is near, and I doubt you'll be disappointed. I hope these quick photos do it justice!

Thanks to Jules Bringuier of Classic Airframes and to John Valo for the preview.

Classic Airframes kits are available worldwide through Squadron.com, in Australia via JB Wholesalers and worldwide through hobby retailers.
