Ultracast's 1/48 scale Typhoon/Tempest seats are gorgeously cast in pale cream coloured resin. As usual, they have realistically draped harnesses and buckles moulded as part of the seat. These seats also feature a quilted backrest.

The harness is a mid to late-war "Q" type, making this seat suitable for later Typhoons and virtually any Tempest. It is nice to see a change from the more familiar Sutton harness.

Two seats are supplied in this set.

The 1/48 scale Typhoon propeller set is equally well cast. The spinner is ready to use - no cleanup required at all. Each propeller blade can be quickly but carefully sliced of a fine "T" shaped base on their common casting block. The base of each propeller blade is keyed to a specially contoured locating hole in the spinner to ensure the correct pitch angle.

This four-blade propeller assembly is relevant to later bubble-top Typhoons. Take note, though, that most of the aircraft fitted with the four-blade propellers were also retrofitted with the larger Tempest tailplanes.

Considering Ultracast's obvious affection for the "Tiffie", perhaps we will see some Tempest tailplanes too!

Recommended.
