These accessories will add an individual touch to Tamiya’s superb new kit. The resin parts in each set are moulded to Ultracast’s usual high standards, with minimal cleanup required. My samples were free of any flaws.

Set Number 48033 replaces the kit seats with new resin parts with moulded cushions and harnesses. I really do prefer the moulded detail on Ultracast’s seats to brass or paper belts. Ultracast have captured the drape of the harnesses and the "lived-in" appearance of the cushions on the navigator’s seat. Tiny details including buckles and the navigator’s switch panel are very nicely executed.

Set Number 48034 supplies a set of substitute control surfaces. The set comprises rudder, elevators and ailerons. Trim tabs and actuators are moulded onto the main parts, and fabric texture on the rudder is impressively restrained. As is usual with replacement control surfaces, the modeller should be prepared to do a bit of extra work thinning down the mating surfaces of the kit parts to get the best possible fit.

Set Number 48035 replaces the kit access door in the side of the forward fuselage. Hinge, handle and structural detail is excellent. All this detail is supplied in a single part. This is about the simplest conversion item you’ll ever see!

These accessories are recommended to any modellers thinking about building the new Tamiya Mossie, and are available via Ultracast’s ever-growing web-site.

Thanks to Kevin at Ultracast for the review samples
